Playstation 2 Controller Adapters

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Playstation 2 Controller Adapters

Post by w00b »

OK, can someone link me to a good USB adapter for the PS2 controller that will most likely work flawlessly with ZSNES. I saw a comment saying to stay away from the "Blue box" ones, which just happened to be the one i was looking to buy. Thanks in advance

This is the first time I've read this topic. :P

I have a Super Dual Box made by Mayflash that I bought on ebay. It happens to also be blue, but has served me well for several years now. They now also sell Super Dual Box Pro's and a few other variants. I'd expect them to work just as well, however I only have personal experience with the original Super Dual Box(which is also still sold today).

Quite a few different models out there are 'blue' that are not created equal. That's not a good rule of thumb anymore.

First off, this IS a message board, not a 24/7 tech support service/IRC Chat. Learn to have some patience.

Next off, if you buy the all black PS2 -> USB adaptor from Radio Shack, you'll be okay. And the blue box comment most likely came from me, so I'll explain: The ones with the blue box and green light on them (also from RS) are CRAP. Mine went out after four days of use.

And nightcrawler, I see a boo-boo in your url code, but I gotcha covered. ;)
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

He had plenty of patience. He waited over a week!

Btw...This is not a generic AOL bash. If anyone said what you said, I would have called them out.

I was going to make a new thread out of this, but I'll post it here instead. I recently bought a double adapter off ebay, plugged it into an xp computer, done the settings in zsnes and so far, on two player games as well, it has worked perfectly. Admittedly, I've only tried a few games, but it worked on Starfox, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and a few others, with a PS 1 and PS 2 pad plugged in. It's called PC Power Box, and here's a link to it....

USB DUAL PS PS2 CONTROLLER to PC Convertor

The seller has loads of them so it shouldn't matter if you miss out on the time limit.

mod edit: long e-bay URL, please either shorten it down to a hyperlink or make www.tinyurl.com your friend next time
