I managed to get black bars this time, so it seems okay. I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time, though I have some ideas and if so it shouldn't matter.

It weas meant to be seen on a 4:3 TV, but does it stretch it to 4:3, making the pixels not square, or does it enlarge it, keeping the pixels square but cropping the top and bottom? Or a combination?

Keep 4:3 ratio on Linux

Running 1.51 on Linux. I have a 1280x1024 LCD monitor. I also have Keep4_3Ratio=1 in my zsnesl.cfg file. When I set a custom video mode to 1280x1024, it gives me that, however the screen is stretched to cover the entire 1280x1024 display. A 1280x1024 screen is not in 4:3 ratio, so I would expect to ...

It was Linux where I had the problem with the character names being cut off. This bug happens on an unpatched ROM, as described above; there is no bad ROM error.

Shin Megami Tensei

The CRC32 is 1AFE71A8. The checksum fails; however, this is because this is patched with the Aeon Genesis English translation 1.00 from 2002. The instructions that come with the Aeon Genesis translation say that zsnes has several bugs, but this refers to a very old version (from 2002). I tried it wi...

Okay, how about 640x480 ODR full, with the screen centered in it in a 512x448 sized block? Alternately, 512x448 ODR full (already suggested as 512x448 DR). On Linux, if I want 60 hz, full screen, no stretching, and the lowest resolution possible, it pretty much has to be one of those. I have no idea...

In fact...

I looked at a couple of ROMs and tried to find circular images and I'm not so sure about that. I've seen quite a few images that were circles in a window with square pixels, but not circles when the screen was stretched to a 4:3 mode. So I'll modify my request. I'd like to see a 512x448 OGL full scr...

512x448 full mode

I suggest, at least for the Linux version, supplying a 512x448 fullscreen OpenGL mode. I wanted to try 256x224 full screen, 60 hz. No modeline for that works on my machine, so I have to use 512x448. However, if I use 512x448 without OpenGL, drawing all those pixels slows the emulator and I only get ...
