FYI, just about every DVD player can be hacked to ignore region coding. Standalone players often are hackable by a "secret" button sequence which can easily be found on Google (x region hack). DVD-ROM drives would use a firmware hack (x RC1 firmware) and a program like DVD Region Killer. G...

I don't back up often enough, but I keep copies of important files on both my desktop and laptop. When I get a new desktop HDD I might just fill the old one with compressed, encrypted copies of important files and store it in a bank vault, that way even if the house burns down the files are still ar...

Re: Damn 48-bit LBA...

They probably want the parts, or think they can fix them. the 'full' size (280 something, jesus, that much is lost?) No, you've just been lied to. HDD manufacturers use metric (1K = 1000 bytes) while Windows uses 1K = 1024 bytes. You think that's bad, try buying a "64mb" memory chip and ge...

Is there a specific part I should look at? The "Debugger" section lists keys like '1' to toggle SPC700 display, but nothing is happening when I press them.

The debugger doesn't do anything in Windows XP SP2.

I open ZSnes V1.50 with the -d flag, and it opens a console that says "Welcome to ZSnes debugger V0.01", but that's it. It doesn't respond to any keypresses, print anything, etc; it just sits there while I play the game, doing nothing. No ROM info because it happens with every ROM, and isn...

Ah, yeah, the SMW editor can create 6MB ROMs but IIRC it uses ExHiROM while SDW:TLC uses ExLoROM for whatever reason, or vice-versa. I thought neither were supported, because I know there's been trouble getting 6MB SMW hacks to run.

Pardon this bump but this idea has me curious. Byuu's method of patching the game seems like the better way to go, but having made hacks for games myself I can tell you this isn't exactly easy in some cases, particularly since you need to find unused space and add your routines in it, and SNES games...

That's awesome. Also, your avatar/website background... it's Li from Card Captor Sakura, isn't it? I can't quite tell by face alone.

Anyway, what's wrong with just pressing Escape and leaving it in the menu? It worked for Final Fantasy on my NES.

Actually, that's it. I didn't know it ran itself in Normal priority when the game was running, but still, it'd be nice if it had an option to just not set priority at all, so that it could be set manually.

Can't set priority

I've noticed that if High Priority Mode isn't enabled, ZSnes sets itself to Low priority and locks it there... if I change it from task manager, it changes back. This is a problem when trying to run other programs in the background, since Low is too slow and High stops other things from working righ...

I don't follow what -size < x does.
If (Size * -1) is less than X, and X is less than/equal to 256, then it's on the line. 'Tis my interpretation, anyway.

YES! I have the same problem with my Saitek P880. I can play fine but after a minute or two, it starts randomly pulling to the left or right really hard! It always seems to happen at the same time; when I play F-Zero, I always manage to get through about 3 1/2 laps before I SMACK into a wall on the ...

That's what I did, it helped a bit but it still happens. It doesn't seem to be a calibration issue though. It just randomly pulls hard to the right.

It's Dual Analog, yeah. I often think it's defective, but then find some software solution to the problem. (Updating the drivers fixed a lot of them, but not this one.) I do set the controls with the digital buttons, but the left joystick also ends up activating them.

Randomly pulls right

I don't know if maybe ZSnes just hates Saitek controllers (P880 in this case) but I always seem to have some problem with the two. Right now the problem is that it randomly pulls to the right. I'd be playing F-Zero and just wham, veers off to the right and smacks into a wall for no reason, or someti...

Does that fix the issue where turbo would't shut off 99% of the time you hit the button using a joypad? Maybe I'm the only one but it's driving me nuts! I managed to sorta fix it by setting it so you have to hold the button, but that's annoying.
