does it matter which usb port i put it in?

doesnt any1 know?!

the only choice i get in the input#1 is either keyboard/joystick or none so i dont know how to diferentiate(sp?) between the keyboard and joystick.
also i didnt know if it being usb or whatever mattered so i put it in there just in case.

sry for the double post but my keyboard also is not a usb i think its called a paralell port keyboard.

how do i get my gamepad to work? when i put it in it said everything was installed and when i check in the control panel it all seems fine on the test page. but when i open up zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) and run kirby superstar, it doesnt work. only the keyboard work...
