Actually, Earthbound can be a 2 player game if you and your partner are willing to create control boundries, as both controllers will work for Earthbound at the same time. No, the game doesn't react to the codes, but the hardware. Allowing the ZSNES user to access such instances would be closer to the original hardware, as the original SNES reacts to the Game Genie device, yet ZSNES doesn't.
