Another thing then was that I had to actually click on the keyb/joypad option then click 'set' then restart the emulator and then it allowed me to set the keys.
that was using a logitech precision joypad

Could it be possible to set more than 1 key to a specific button? ie. both the A key and the L key on the keyboard, is the START button on the SNES controller.
