ZMVs always going out-of-sync
I'm trying to make a TAS of Super Metroid. If you've played it before and/or seen videos of some of the time-saving tricks you'd know this requires split-second precision to pull them off. After about 5 or so minutes of gameplay (not sure how long it was) it always goes off sync. This isn't 5 minute...

Assuming you did a
then all you'd have to do is type 'zsnes' in a console and go from there. It'll create a new folder ~/.zsnes/ to keep all your saves in. Then it runs like normal (again, assuming it installed correctly).
Code: Select all
sudo make install

Moving to new display.
First of all let me say "Happy Birthday" to the current version of ZSNES. It's been a year since your release and you have never left me wanting. On to my question: I'm running on a laptop that has multiple displays. I've got a bigger monitor hooked up to it so naturally I want it to run o...

IF all dependent packages are installed correctly (and it looks like you got through configure just fine) and you set your flags correctly it should work. Since it's looking in /usr/lib and not /usr/lib32 I would think not. Try getting the ia32-libs package for your distro. That should enable you to...

I am using ubuntu 7.10 and i have a vodoo 3 3000 card Im not sure what way it redners the video. Wow! Glide without a wrapper. I envy you. Anyway, for future reference it's best to open zsnes through the terminal because it will display error messages and such pointing you to the source of the trou...

I have this same problem too. The problem is with ALSA and possibly SDL. My OSS didn't work either. ZSNES is feeding more than ALSA can process so it gets bogged down and starts skipping. When this happens I just hit Esc twice (enter and exit GUI) and the problem goes away for a few more minutes. It...

Meaning you didn't finish installing them. Add all your DLL paths to /etc/ld.so.conf and rerun ldconfig. If you don't do that you'll have to specify where they're located. Your current lack of OGL is a similar problem, you either lack the 32 bit libraries on your machine, or they aren't installed p...

Try harder, it does work. Not helpful suggestion notwithstanding, I figured out why I got those errors. My 32-bit packages are installed in a different dir from the 64-bit. So I had to change the two -L/usr/lib switches in the final statement of the Makefile to -L/usr/lib32 and all the errors went ...

maybe in 24-bit color?
I've been posting about ZSNES not being able to enter OpenGL mode for a while. I think I've figured out why. My Ubuntu is running in 24-bit color depth. I can't set it to anything else (for whatever reason) so I need to know is there any way to set ZSNES into accepting 24-bit or make it think it's i...

You should use my old cheats program. It should still work in even the latest versions. I made it specifically for the reasons you mentioned.

I finally resigned myself with the knowledge that I have an ATI card on my laptop (therefore, can't do anything about it) and just won't get custome OpenGL progs (e.g. zsnes) to work in Linux. :( I tried every mesa package I could find (except mesa-swk since that seems to remove many essential packa...

--with-opengl-prefix code error
I have no idea if anyone has noticed this lately, but when I've been trying my darnedest to use the --with-opengl-prefix option with the configure file it would always give me an error saying it can't find the file. I just figured out what it is. The line in question is 4914. The current configure f...

Unless you're using a HDTV, 640x480 is the max resolution for any standard TVs. Cable runs at 320x240 or something close to that, and most DVDs run 640x480. Anything higher and things will look out of focus because the TV is trying to do its own interpretation of what's going on. If you're running y...
