Re: bsnes v0.041 released
Sorry. Derrick's main PC is a Loongson MIPS-clone, so the i386 port is no longer being updated :( I think it would be sweet if bsnes was in the official Debian (and Ubuntu) repositories. If I can make the time someday to become a Debian maintainer myself I would gladly take care of that. Wow cool, ...

I hadn't tried bsnes since v0.034 because http://repository.cinnamonpirate.com doesn't get updated and I was too lazy to build from source... until now! In case anyone out there is wondering how to build bsnes from source in Debian unstable: I found out through trial and error that I needed to insta...

xkas is an assembler, not a disassembler. Sorry. Yeah, after posting, the feeling of being way off grew on me. Your best bet is to use trace logs on the parts of the game you want to disassemble. To produce these logs, do I need a non-standard/debugger version of bsnes or zsnes? I have no expectati...

ROM hacking/disassembling
I don't get it. How do I disassemble an .smc file? I tried using xkas, but it seems to want an .asm file as input (wouldn't that be the output?). Couldn't find relevant documentation in either the xkas README or on romhacking.net or wherever. I have some experience programming in assembly, but it ha...

SVN (revision 4069) configure syntax error [debian unstable]
Doing a ./autogen or ./configure results in: ./configure: line 3421: syntax error near unexpected token `1.2.0,,AC_MSG_ERROR' ./configure: line 3421: `AM_PATH_SDL(1.2.0,,AC_MSG_ERROR(SDL >= 1.2.0 is required))' I use a PIII Thinkpad and I believe I have the necessary packages installed (concerning S...
