Re: Whats with the awful menu?
Just a few questions. I have been reading up on the Snes emulators out there and the one that seems to have tried to make great strides is BSNES. It's advances in patching and header info seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I can't understand why! Is it because people are like pigs in mud and know w...

Re: How to handle a single PS/2 port?
Wikipedia's PS/2 article describes pins 2 and 6 as being "reserved". If you look at their reference for that material, you'll find this: However, on the NEC Versa 24xx and Panasonic Toughbook CF-35 laptop computers, and some others, there is just one connector on the computer, and it uses ...

Re: State of SNES Emulation - 2010
And his "standards" are not necessarily perfect either. He has recently acknowledged that UPS (a largely unnecessary format when it comes to SNES patches) is imperfect. Many people see MSU-1 as an unnecessary add-on that is unlikely to see wide use due to its obscurity. Yeah, no one likes...

Re: Cannot install ZSENES in Linux
When looking at my software manager, I see that I currently have glibc, glibc-devel, glibc-locale (all 2.11.2-3.3.1) and linux-glibc-devel 2.6.32-3.3 installed. Other variant of glibc that aren't installed are -i18ndata, -info, -obsolete, -profile, -html. Is it that I have to install one of those o...

my tv has a 1080p24 mode. the frequency still looks unnatural to me, but i'm pretty sure it's like gil said and it's because of the interpolated frames. the 240 Hz tv's i've seen at best buy seem to overcome that issue for me. I wouldn't touch 240/200hz displays ever. They interpolate between sourc...

Re: Gambatte 0.4.1 released
No, I am pointing out how idiotic DataPath is making things. For gaming, emulation etc. you just cant stick performance to the Man. For graphics processing, you can't just stick performance to the Man. For numerical analysis packages, you can't just stick performance to the man. For kernel drivers,...

Re: Gambatte 0.4.1 released
I have no trouble with code built using Visual Studio 2010 running on XP. Older should be of no consequence these days anyway. QFT. The problems that Rashidi is referring to are probably SDK-related. My employer builds all kinds of projects on MSVC for running on a non-windows real-time OS. You do ...

Re: Gambatte 0.4.1 released
in any case, yes, assembly should be faster, with improvements ranging from marginal to great, regardless of it's convenience for use in projects like this. Ask any Amiga demo scener how they pulled the best tricks; hint, it wasn't C. Amiga? Really? Do you have ANY idea just how much more complicat...

120Hz is also important for dejuddering 24p content. At 60Hz, 24fps doesn't divide in evenly, so you have to have 5:4 pulldown. At 120Hz, you can display 24p content without extra processing.

Re: How Monitor & HDTV Companies Cook Their Specs
Yes, and that is the problem; true communism is a great idea, both in theory and in practise. Yet, when mentioning it, people always think about the former USSR, and particularly Stalin, even though Stalin was a fascist dictator, not a communist. Soviet-style commumism was not commumism. On the oth...

Re: How Monitor & HDTV Companies Cook Their Specs
Karl Marx's ideal of communism was "a classless, stateless and oppression-free society where decisions on what to produce and what policies to pursue are made democratically, allowing every member of society to participate in the decision-making process in both the political and economic sphere...

This one, only a little bit less gloss and it will hit the sweet spot. How about this? http://gleasonator.com/downloads/bsnes6.png Thanks to Thristian for information on the fonts. I didn't really know the exact details. I read through some of your posts on cinnamonpirate, albeit quickly from time to time; I got the impression that the loongson 2F is a 32-bit MIPS cpu. So, it's 64-bit and has it's own instruction set: what's the name of this instruction set? Aside from it bei...

I don't know how he could have made his point more clearly: combined collisions are possible by only modifying a few bytes. Eventually, it will be possible, n...
