Chrono Trigger New Game+
I just finished Chrono Trigger on ZSNES for the first time, but I can't figure out how to start a New Game+. The game just goes to "The End" screen, and plays music. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know!

Chrono Cross isn't an SNES game.
However if you were talking about Chrono Trigger, you'd need to beat the game via the Black Omen, then at the ending, reset the game.

This kind of info is found in practically any walkthrough/FAQ at www.gamefaqs.com

Completing the Black Omen means the following must be true.aktor_shift2 wrote:Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
1) You have beaten Queen Zeal (twice) and the Mammon Machine
2) The time period in which you have beaten the Black Omen means that there is no other Black Omen in that period, and the future ones. Check 2300AD and see if the Black Omen is there. If the Black Omen is there, you have not completed the quest.
If the Black Omen is not in 2300AD, then proceed to beat Lavos via the Epoch (not recommended) or via the bucket.
Once Lavos is beaten, reset the game (or quit ZSNES and restart ZSNES and reload Chrono Trigger) and the option for New Game+ should appear.

IIRC, that's not possible. Beating the mammon machine takes you straight to Lavos and beating that takes you inside Lavos.Deathlike2 wrote: If the Black Omen is not in 2300AD, then proceed to beat Lavos via the Epoch (not recommended) or via the bucket.

What happens in the Omen...Nach wrote:IIRC, that's not possible. Beating the mammon machine takes you straight to Lavos and beating that takes you inside Lavos.Deathlike2 wrote: If the Black Omen is not in 2300AD, then proceed to beat Lavos via the Epoch (not recommended) or via the bucket.
After you fight Queen Zeal (first version, which is just herself), you are "dumped" into the Mammon Machine and fight it..
After fighting the Mammon Machine, then you fight Queen Zeal in a different form (the 3 part version.. the one with the face and 2 hands).
After defeating this version of Queen Zeal, then you fight Lavos (as if you went into the bucket) and fight the multi-phase version of Lavos (you only have to do this once, if you fought this version already, it skips to the going inside part).
From there, you see a portal and a save point (neither of which you will see if you destroyed the Epoch, but in this case, you should see it).
I'd rather not quote from a Walkthrough, but this is what happens.. I've played CT enough times to know it fairly well.... I'm the kind of CT nut that spends the extra time to make three trips through the Black Omen just to get the 3 sets of Prism Helmets and Prism Dresses by stealing from Queen Zeal.

maybe you found some obscure bug or smth. if you have a hex editor, I believe all you have to do is change 1 byte at the end of the file to get the +, but only do this on a copy of the .srm file because if you mess it up it'll erase your game.

From all of this, I don't know why it wasn't asked for his NSRT output.. there's a fair chance that the ROM is corrupt..
I've never had to use SRAM Check+Save for anything... so there is something else at work that could be affecting this.

Ah. It was like Deathlike2 said. I had destroyed the black omen in a later time period, so it still existed in the earlier ones. Now, I finally have my New Game+. Thanks so much! Oh, I also turned on the sram check + save, but I'm fairly certain it was the Black Omen, because I had a save that should have worked, otherwise.

There's only one other version of the game.. but that's a Japanese version....CloudRider wrote:Well, when I was having the exact same issue, enabling SRAM CHECK + SAVE was what fixed it. And my ROM is fine.
Maybe it is only needed for certain revisions of the game.
