Anywho, it's a rather slow little thing, so I wanted to run it at on fullscreen 256x224. But when I set it to that, for some reason ZSnes crashes back to Windows. All the windowed modes work, and the fullscreen modes from 640x480 onwards (albeit very slow).
Any idea what might be foffling up my ZSnesing?
Edit: Never mind. I fixed it by downgrading Zsnes to revision 1.3 something. Discovered the fix by finding a post made a long time ago by someone who had the same problem on his own laptop; this leads me to believe that the problem was the "fix" that was implemented sometime between 1.3 and the current version.
You know, the one that changed 256x224 mode from 320x240 to actually 256x224?
There are laptops that can only display modes in a certain aspect ratio; 320x240, 800x600, etc. Mine is apparently one of them, so when the "fix" was put into ZSnes, the display couldn't handle the aspect ratio and crashed.
But it's fixed, and I can now run a full speed (albeit blocky) ZSnes on my old old laptop. Huzzah!
