ok I need help please

Post by MegaRock »

I am using Zsneswv1.36, I have Windows XP and The emulator was going well. But today I went to let my nephew play Goof troop and now everytime I go to play one of my games the screen just shuts down. I downloaded the newest DirectX. And it still will not let me play any of the games. is there any way I can repair this?

Use the latest WIP, do a clean install, don't use your old .cfg files.

First, the the WIP page is here:

http://ipherswipsite.com/zsnes/

Then, your .cfg files are your configuration files. They should be in the same folder as your old Zsnes. Note: Delete these before runnning the latest WIP.

And about your Eartbound savestate, it depends. I've heard older Zsnes savestates don't work with newer versions, but I've never had any trouble using a vesion 1.36 savestate on WIPs. Try lading it in the WIP and see what happens.

WIP stands for Work In Progress, although they are not "official" releases, they are lightyears ahead in progress than good old ver. 1.36, you can get it here: http://ipherswipsite.com/

.cfg files are those files that are created when you first boot up Zsnes, they have a .cfg extension and they save zsne's setup (.cfg stands for configuration) they can be opened with notepad. As a rule of thumb, you shouldn't mix old .cfg files with the new WIPs, compability and other misc. issues can result from that.

Well, I hope you have been using the game's save system, just keep the file with a .srm extension (It has the same name as the rom) that is the file that keeps your save files. It will work with the latest WIP, I'm not sure about savestates. :?

Edit: CK beated me to it.
