I sure do.

I even remember when NES games were a ripoff. I was thinking of picking up a new Mega Man game back in the day, and I see two new ones out, Mega Man II for $30, or Mega Man 4 for $60, I went with the cheaper one of course.

I remember Super Mario RPG... yeah that was $80 first edition at K-Mart. D:<

EDIT: I saw some e-bay auctions for SMRPG that sell for half that now.

I remember paying £60 for Mystical Ninja and DK64, £63 for Turok and £65 for Mario Kart 64 about 9 years ago (all well over $110 each). Thankfully, prices have come down with Gamecube, so it is less of a rip-off.

I bought Yoshi's Island for $70 USD when it came out, and I have never spent that much on a game again. I think 50 is a fair price.

i remember buying Trog (on the NES) for 70$ (AUD). it was i think the only brand new game we bought for the system... all the other 80 or so games we bought were bought new but werent the latest and as such where loads cheaper.

Trog is a brilliant game with i think over 50 levels of bashing the crap out of cave-man, tires and spring men.

(we had over 100 games for the NES but my bro sold it for 100$ (AUD) it was the worst thing that happened in my life... including selling our SNES and its 7 games.

Hmm. $44.95 and $49.95 were the highest prices my parents or my allowance ever paid for a SNES game, USD mind you. And for some weird reason, 2 months after Chrono Trigger was released in stores, they were selling it for $30.00. The boxes had a red clearance sticker on it. Can somebody say database hack?

I apologize to those who are sick of me telling this story about Chrono Trigger...

It's shit like this that, IMO, helps fuel the pirate scene even more. Sure, a game is "only" 30-60 dollars, but if you need to spend 400-1,500+ on a machine to play it decently, well, suddenly that game is now 430-1,560 dollars, isn't it?

More Sony/PS3 crazyness!

High street games shops have been told by Sony that there will be no PS3 pre-owned sections in their stores as it will be illegal for customers to sell any next-gen PlayStation games that they've bought, retail sources have revealed to GamesRadar.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

It's shit like this which makes me want even an XBox 360 over PS3.

Wii > XBox 360 > PS3

I dunno which is worse, this system, or their DRM. In any case, they're just going to lose customers.

There was no official word from Sony on this. I'd say this is BS. This is how rumors spread and companys get trashed and hated for false reasons. There are plenty of REAL reasons to hate those same companies. Use one of those ;)

That "new" rumor is actually an old one that sprang up after a Sony patent was discovered. Sony immediately denied that this has anything to do with the PS3

Well, when Vista comes out you won't OWN the OS. You have to pay to license it. Actually, that's what you do with, for example, Visual Studio. You pay for a license, yet, no fot the software (you don't own it).

I don't hate this trend. If they like losing money, that's their problem... but extending it to the gaming industry?

Fuck off.

Whatever, I've got no problem paying $60 as (opposed to $50) for a game if it's worth it.

Well not when the license has to be paid once per month or once per year. Ever heard o pay as you go? Seems Microshit wanted to use this "feature" on it's OS.

Back to topic, PS3 has good visuals, but unless it wipes the floor with 360, Sony's gonna have a taste of the "Nintendo 64 effect"

My brother bought Killer Instinct at release date here for 699 francs of that time, which is roughly US$156 nowadays.
