how to change the "bg disables" keys ?

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

How do i prevent zsnes to overwrite my newly chosen keys for the Bg disables ?

It seems to allways go back to the keys 1 to 5 when the emulator restarts.

thx in advance

Just a guess: are your config files not read-only?

no, its not read only, i could try that of course, but why would zsnes owerwrite this file by default........seems weird to me.

OK then.

ZSNES needs to overwrite the config file to save the settings, in this case the new key assignments.

Have you recently updated ZSNES?

Try this...

1. backup your ZSNES configuration file
2. delete the active configuration files
3. run ZSNES
4. setup up your config
5. use the "Save Config" option in the GUI menus
6. If you still get overwriting report back with your system
specs and ZSNES version

The overwiriting (of your config file) may be the result of using a stale (older) configuration file version than the ZSNES you are using. It's been mentioned many places that's not a good idea so I suggest backing up the configs (I think you'd be fine making a "backup" directory under .zsnes) removing them. If you still get overwriting problems and it's not due to a version conflict then you can restore the config files from backup.
