Bug? [Controllers]

Post by Aerdan »

Why does the controller automatically reset to NONE every time you go to configure it? It should only default to NONE if it wasn't previously configured.

An interface design flaw in ZSNES version 1.36 and earlier allows you to configure keys while controller input is set to "NONE". With this setting, ZSNES will emulate a disconnected controller. You must select Keyb/Joystick and click "SET" before assigning your keys/buttons. This will change "CDV:NONE" to "CDV:Keyb/Joystick" and the change should stick. That is, only if ZSNES can save the settings to your configuration files. This won't work if the emulator is stored in a read-only folder or on a CD-ROM.

Try the latest WIP, which won't allow configuration until a control device is first "Set"

I'm sorry, I should've mentioned I experience this behaviour with the WIPs, even after I configure a device.

It starts off at NONE every time you go into the configuration dialog; this shouldn't happen. What *should* happen is that the defaults are NONE and keybindings unset.

I guess locking settings combined with not having players 2-5 set creates this new prob. Will have to look into it.

Shouldn't the proper behaviour be having it set to what ever device you last configured that controller with?

By 'default', I mean 'before the device is configured'.
