Top Gear 3000 maximum speed?
What's the maximum speed you've reached in this game? The guy at gamefaqs says he's reached 750, I remember getting to about that figure before emulators even existed, but I haven't been able to find a track straight enough now that we're in emulation land. I've gotten to http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/2718 ... 019if9.png 600 kph... I'd love to know the maximum theoretical speed but I can't hack for nuts. The problem with finding out practically is that once the best parts are available, the tracks have more twists than a pot of spaghetti. Plus, could you imagine being able to corner on a F1 race track at 600+ kph? It's pretty impossible in san andreas!

Hacking the game, asking for codes, and asking about key configs, a general question, are "virtually the same topic?"Deathlike2 wrote:The simple fact that you've created effectively 3 threads on virtually the same topic is astounding, and should be halted immediately.

Oh, and 683 kph: http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/8995/683kphsi1.png

As long as they're all about the same thing (which I'm guessing is all about Top Gear 3000), why not post it in your first Top Gear 3000 thread ?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

You had to mispell Top Gear 3000 to beat the filter? That is seriously pathetic.

Didn't sound like I'd have a chance any other way... though if you want me to spam the board to all heck trying to bypass the filter, you're welcome to give me permission to try...byuu wrote:Oh, and I'll volunteer to write a new filter that cannot be tricked by using extra spaces, BBCode, or non-ascii chars. That could be fun.

Hey...
Now that that quote from Byuu was brought back up..
There IS a mod for phpbb2 which can remove redundant bbcode used to circumvent the word filters...

Why do people even use redundant bbcode to circumvent filters?

So you're saying there's other ways to cleanly go around the filters ?

Top Gear 3000
Huh. Well how about that. Putting an extra space after the Gear and before the 3000 defeats it.
EDIT: Apparently the filter triggers on Top Gear 3, but also takes out the 000.

ok, I'll try keeping everything in the same topic, but if I don't get a response within a few days, I'll assume things just don't work as well that way:
In the game, it seems like action replay etc codes are fairly easily made for numerical figures, such as cash and nitro boosts left. However, with, for example, fuel gages - is there any hex value that would give you infiinite fuel? I think it's a timing thing, also, with a less powerful engine, you use less fuel - obviously - which also complicates things. Can hex codes only be used for numerical values?

No. But finding these "special" codes is almost impossible without understanding the game's code.
(Btw. "hex" is a format for displaying number values. It's not much different from "decimal".)

I know hex as in "converting a number from decimal to hex" but not "using cheats in a game by using hex values"creaothceann wrote:No. But finding these "special" codes is almost impossible without understanding the game's code.

Anyway, here's a "metered" code for top gear 1:
Code: Select all
C225-6429
Someone mentioned that extracting the palette/graphics for a certain game would require understanding the game code, but Earthbound seems to have all this and more done to it. I take it that's due to the huge EB following online?

You can extract them without knowing the code, for example with savestate tools. *points to sig*invictius wrote:Someone mentioned that extracting the palette/graphics for a certain game would require understanding the game code, but Earthbound seems to have all this and more done to it. Here's one for y'all:
How would I increase that to something like, 60x, apply it to the armor meter, and/or disable the fuel capacity "bug"?
EDIT: Oh, http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:js17 ... =clnk&cd=1 (the source)
Code: Select all
EEC9-3D06 Start With Over 6X More Fuel (note) (note) Don't recharge or fuel capacity goes back to normal.
