Help with Save States

Post by Kevin54C »

First of all.. I downloaded the ZSNES 1.42 (Is that the latest version?) and then I extracted it with WinRAR onto my desktop. I created a folder for the extracted files. Then I downloaded Chrono Trigger, which I extracted into a rom folder that I created. However every time I save a game, it appears on my desktop. How can I make it appear in the ROM folder so my desktop does not become messy from all the other save states from other games?

I tried to copy and paste the files into my ROM folders. And when I opened up Chrono Trigger, my saves were completely gone! Luckily I found a site with game states...http://www.fantasyanime.com/squaresoft/ctsaves.htm... but it doesnt seem to work. Can anyone help me with my problems please???

I think that some of these problems will be fixed if you download the latest WIP version. You'll also want to change the save path from within ZSNES's options.

Ok... I got the save files to stop appearing on my desktop

Now my last problem is to get these Chrono Trigger game save to work from this site, http://www.fantasyanime.com/squaresoft/ctsaves.htm. The files come in zips and in the zips is an .srm file. However, I thought that the .zst were the save states? So how could this .srm file possibly help me? Someone please try and help me

.srm = SRAM. Static RAM. Battery save. Gets created whenever you save in-game (i.e. on a save point etc.). All games that didn't rely on passwords to save your game used SRAM to save game information.

.zst = Save states. An emulator feature that's let's you save whenever you like.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.
