Firefox 2

Here is a good list of tweaks I found made Firefox 2 much better for me - such as enabling spell check in fields - not only boxes, getting rid of the close buttons on tabs, getting rid of the go button in the title bar, and a few others.

Also, backspace no longer goes back a page - which is fucking absurd.
set browser.backspace_action to 0

Also, one or two people might not know, but middle clicking on a link opens it in a new tab, and middle clicking on the tab itself closes it.

I used to get rid of the Go button with IE. I used to think that I was too good for it. "If you're already typing the URL, why don't you just press [Enter]?" Then I realized how much the Go button rawked when I have to paste something and click Go. I don't even take my left hand off of the keyboard most of the time and I can have full access to the Ctrl/Alt/Shift keys while clicking on things. Plus, Win+R is most useful. Leave the Go button along, damn you! After years of working on countless computers, I'm so #$%^ing efficient it's not funny.

Why would they change the function of backspace?
