recommendations for a excellent movie editing prog

Post by KKND »

I'm not into the whole video editing community so I have no idea what programs I'm searching for - but I have tested a few and so far they don't produce the results.

I'm trying to make a video that will play a song - and I can add videos and manipulate however I please and also with the song, I can add like text (the lyrics) that go with the song and shout like big phrases and fonts at the viewer and so forth.

Any ideas?

Windows Movie Maker!

*doges flying chair*

Just kidding.

For basic cutting, joining, remuxing and transcoding, VirtualDub does a decent job. It's not much good for much else, though. Try hitting the forums and tools and guides sections over at VideoHelp.com.

Hope this helps you. I personally really like Cinelerra... it's only available for Linux, but, if you're really into video-editing, and want a powerful open-source non-linear video-editing software, I think Cinelerra is a great choice :). Maybe find a Live Distribution that includes Cinelerra to try it out... ? Just throwing out ideas. :B

So... there ya go. :)

the only program that i have evre used for video editing is windows movie maker. it is the best at being extremely limited, slow loading, wonderfully bad, under powered video editor out there. ive seen other video editors in action and movie maker doesnt even come close. i would just google video editor

Pure Motion EditStudio is an excellent one, if you will pay for it.
