Is ZSNESW 1.51 + Mencoder dumping faulty .AVI files or what?

Post by dissociative »

I'm under WinXP SP2, I have installed the CCCP and after converting a zmv to a .avi everytime that I select the dumped video file sometimes the windows explorer crashes giving a message about some error in ntdll.dll, or sometimes appears an error messagebox saying Haali Media Splitter AVI: Can't find index, I'm using zsnes 1.51 + svn-athlon-mencoder, this thing is very annoying and the CCCP is very essential for me

The problem is your system.

I'm not sure mencoder or ZSNES is responsible here. More likely some codec doesn't want to peacefully coexist, so Windows decides to crash. When it happened to me, it was the DivX decoder that decided to implode Windows (eg. Windows desktop crashes and restarts itself).

Then defer to the people who are sure.

I think that I have found a possible cause to this issue, if by a mistake I select compressed audio and and zsnes doesn't find lame then it seems that a faulty .avi file is created that mess around with my system config
