I don't quite understand your problem... but if you are running ZSNES and/or loading ROMs from a CD, you need to specify a Saves path in the Config -> Paths dialog. The path you specify must be to a folder to which you have write access. This probably means a folder on your hard drive, for example: "C:\Emulators\SNES Saves\".

EDIT: Also, please read the included documentation. Update to the latest version of ZSNES (v1.51) if your not already running it.

Thank you for your help, the file path thing worked, embarrassed i didnt think of it, lmao.well my computer won't let m e switch the file off of read only(it changes back) i still seem to be able to use save states. what i meant was, like playing a link to the past, the ingame save works but if i try it with chrono trigger, it always starts a new game(i dont get the option to load like in FF* or in zelda) i assume i'll just have to deal with it and use save states. also, if you happen to know why when i open with... roms and browse it wont let me use zsnes, i even moved it to program files. i can work around it of course, but entering save directory path every time to load a game is a pain, lol

Make sure you click "Save Cfg" in the Misc menu after you made any changes. then check that zsnesw.cfg was properly saved.

If you can't remove the Read Only attribute from files/directories, you need to do it from the Command Prompt via attrib -r /s path.
