[Request] ZMV to Video conversion Through ffmpeg2theora
I think that should be better being able to use ffmpeg2theora than mencoder for zmv to video conversion tasks, as the nature of its open source-patent free codecs is a greater benefit and mpeg2theora can encode video along with audio simultaneously is already another advantage over mencoder
mencoder is open source. Are any/all of the possible video formats into which you can encode open-source?

Nach is the movie man.. so I'll defer to him. I haven't use mencoder long enough to care, but it has been sufficient for the current task. I don't see how this is better. Note that all of the movie dumping options are loseless based, which is of utmost importance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression ffmpeg2theora only outputted Ogg Theora streams.
Don't get me wrong, I like Theora (I even use it for stuff like video stream using Icecast2) but:
1) It's not even finished
2) It's slightly less popular than Ralph Nader
3) Besides VLC, nothing else can read Theora out of the box. (I know you can get it to work by performing some codec voodoo, the main factor here is "out of the box")
Why should ZSNES output to a format that hardly anyone uses?

You're free to edit the movie config file and make it use any program or options you want.
If the program you select is incapable or you don't know how to do it, don't bother us, refer to the manual of the program you want to use.
