I hope you mean HTT as in Hyper Threading Technology and not HT as in HyperTransport.

Core 2 Duo is the name of Intel's Dual Core processor.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Core 2 is the name of the processor model, just like Pentium 4. Duo means it is also dual core. The Core 2 line is Intel's latest processor line, usually considered to be the best thing available right now.

An Intel processor with "HT" indicates that it is able to simulate an SMP mode that will cause the OS to pass multiple threads to it at a time, and enables the CPU to execute multiple threads at the same time. However, it does not come anywhere close to actual SMP performance.

"HT" is AMD's proprietary CPU bus that enables extremely fast speeds between the CPU and RAM.

A dual core processor is any processor that has two cores contained in a single die. Example: Athlon X2, Pentium 4 D, Core 2 Duo, et cetera

A Core 2 Duo is the second iteration of the Core architecture by Intel in a dual-core configuration.

ah, thank you very much for that info :) and no, why would i think HT stands for HyperTransport?

Because HT, in the context of AMD processors, stands for HyperTransport.
