I haven't experienced this kind of trouble since '01 when ZSNES was new
If there's one sprite on screen (usually mine), the game works almost perfectly. Add in another, and there's some slowdown and a little bit of choppiness. Add in another, and it gets even worse. If there's more than three moving things on screen at one time, the game becomes unplayably slow. I haven't used ZSNES for about half a year (wtf!), and in that time I have upgraded my computer. Could this be the reason? I, of course, have all my drivers updated (including directx). My specs are:
Sorry. Apparently I need to bone up on my reading comprehension. I thought you said you had posted a fix to my problem...not just the answer to what was causing it.
I won't ask for an ETA, but I am wondering something. I tried running the same games on multiple versions of ZSNES...some old, some very old. They all did the same thing. Is this just a case of you guys needing to update for dual-core processor users or something like that, or is my problem more severe?

Existing code is supposed to run on dual-core... only optimizations for dual core is a different matter altogether. With that said, there have been posts about dual-core, and IIRC, the suggested solution was..
1) Get dual-core patches for your OS.
2) Set ZSNES's affinity in Task Manager (IIRC), to one CPU
You could also try the option "Increase Emu Priority" in Config->Options.
Thanks for the tips guys. I did what you guys suggested, and then re-installed all the new drivers for my video card, sound card, and processor. I'm not sure what it was that did it or if it was a combination, but ZSNES is working flawlessly now and I'm the happiest person alive
