Front Mission 3 would have been better without the internet minigame thing.

I never played through Aliza's version. I got so far in Emma's though, but then after I got to the mission to infiltrate the submarine base, and had to use the party that I didn't train, I got lazy ended up losing because my other characters body armors, legs and weapons weren't up to par with the wanzers on the top of the submarine.

Oh yeah that internet mini game was pretty useless information to me. Hated hated hated it. So much information I didn't really care about at the time.

i just picked up Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition and it has kept me busy. doesn't require a badass computer to play either. t's a turn-based strategy game like Civilization IV, but WAY better. i don't especially like turn-based strategy games, but this one i do. the best features are the scifi atmosphere and ability to design your own ships. i'm sick of all the historic settings used in games nowdays.

Does it involve anything like progressing cities, involving them from past aspirations to future gadgets, like UFOs, spacecrafts, star crafts or things of that nature?

YES! I bought some credits and downloaded that on Saturday. I hadn't played it in years and it's just as fun as I remember.

And I picked up Half-Life: Source, HL2, Episode 1 and CounterStrike a couple of weeks ago. I'm only about 2/3 the way through Half-Life and I'm hooked.

yup, it has a tech tree just like civ 4. theres 3 different types of weapons, one is the beam which goes from lasers 1-5, plasma 1-3, phasors 1-7, disruptors, something here and there, and the end is doom ray. you can upgrade your engines to make your ships faster. and you can upgrade all your buildings, terraform your planets to make it higher quality, etc. you pretty much have to make your own ships though because when you get a new weapon tech it isn't automatically put on a ship. there are a few pre-made ships but they suck.

One game I rarely ever see people play on the Snes is Super Ninja Boy, it's a really awesome co-op adventure rpg beatem up. A very nice explorable world map and 2player turn based boss battles. Very nice Ninja techniques like Decoy, T-Star, Reflexar and escape leaf. Any action/rpg fan should check it out sometime.

I've played it before. It is a pretty good one, but unfortunately it has a unmemorable story, and inconsistant boss battle play that could have been more unique.

Sadly it is SLOW as hell. But I remember I had a blast when I used to rent it from Blockbuster years ago.

I can name a game slower... Seiken Densetsu 3? And I can prove it. The transition from the environment to the items screen really goes kinda slow sometimes. The controls don't respond every time you select something and there is a little bit of lag in between getting recovery, attack or travel items out of storage, and also the cpu doesn't respond every time you try to attack an enemy which made Secret of Mana the better game. On topic I may try to play Inindo sometime in the near future.

Meh, small minor gripe for an game that hasn't gotten an official translation..

(A related tangent: SOM needs a port with all the stuff that never made it in originally IMO... SD3 with a little more stuff couldn't hurt either)

As in more stuff they obviously didn't need to add so many useless items in Seiken Densetsu 3 that you could use. Don't get me wrong it is a good game, but comeon. They needed the pumpkin bombs and the darts? Secret of Mana does seem easier but they narrowed the item consumption by 4 instead of 9. It would seem to make the game harder, but Secret of Mana does seem like an easier game. Another thing they should have not added in Seiken Densetsu 3 is the battle slow down. You cannot run like you normally could while in battle in Secret of Mana. I'll say that they did get something right by bumping the visuals. They are top notch compared to Secret of Mana, besides that I couldn't think of anything else needing to be added.

The number of items in SD3 are pretty huge, but that is what that item storage is for. Pumpkin Bombs == MP absorb and I cannot live w/o the Specter's Eye.

The battle refinement in SD3 is definately better than SOM... I will agree that running is harder, but you have to "sneak around" to avoid the attacks, which made a lot more sense than SOM.

Yeah, Pumpkin Bombs are pretty nice if you want to deal damage from a distance, but that's what Angela is there for. Maging an enemy to death from a distance works alot better than some of those ranged weapons. Bombs, Darts and Arrows can deal what 50 damage at most? While Angela's mage attacks do 400-500 damage? And it's not necessarily hard to run it's just slow at times.

No, you missed what the point of what I said. In addition to doing damage, damage dealt is converted MP. The main point of those items are to supplement for characters or classes you are not using. I don't care for many of those items, but some of them are still very nifty and those enemy items are more useful than you would think. I don't mean lame items like Darts... but items that boost your offensive capabilties. Besides, Pumpkin Bombs aren't a bad alternative than say the Magic Walnut of near uselessness.

Angela's magic is awesome, but there are caveats to her spell casting like enemy counterattacks to magic.

SD2 could improve a lot simply with a pallete enhancement. As for SD3 it's a lot more complicated and difficult, it's battle system seems more like I highly evolved version of SD1 than SD2.

I still don't like how they shafted 3-player just how I don't like the lack of 2P support in Evermore, but both of those have been remedied with hacks :D

I think that has more to do with the multitap popularity and games available for it. It may have been the leading factor why it was std for the N64.

That was with a level 50 Cloud, two Calculators that new all of the spells and summons, a nasty Lancer with the best equipment, and some other good units. I didn't have the heart for the deep dungeon.
