I remember ZSNES running quite well, if not perfect on my old P3 700mhz system. However, I just got a laptop, and it's running quite poorly. Maybe 10 FPS, very choppy sound, etc.
I have it set to full screen mode (Windows version) with no filters on. My laptop's specs are a P3 M (are those any good?) with 256MB of ram, running Windows XP. It's got a lousy 8MB ATI video card, but since it's 2-d I don't think that should matter? No other programs are running in the background. I'd appreciate some insight to this. Thanks!!
Runs very slow on my laptop?

That option I assume is in ZSNES?Deathlike2 wrote:It should run fine, but consider enabling "Use Higher Priority".
Also are P3M's considered any good? I am assuming the M stands for Mobile, much like the Centrino's. I am sure P3's are pretty lousy for laptops, but I am hoping the M line is as great as the Centrino's, just obviously topping out at a lower total ghz or something.

It should be adequate for most things (basically you aren't going to use the more powerful filters such as HQ3x or so). Also are P3M's considered any good? Pentium 3 Mobiles are 'ancestors' of the Pentium M, Core Duo and Core 2 Duo as seen in Centrino laptops, as they are all based on the P6 design. However, Pentium 3s are by today's standards very low-tech, so even a modestly clocked Pentium M would chew it to pieces.
An overclocked Pentium 3 Tualatin core may just about keep up with an early Athlon XP Tbred at best, and you have an even older core than that.
Edit: A standard laptop tip is to plug it in, and make sure its well ventilated. Heat can cause the CPU to throttle down. Also, you might want to compile your own build of ZSNES with Pentium 3 optimisations (and possibly Release Grade if you can handle the long wait). Zget can do this for you if unsure, check out r4538. That might squeeze some more speed out of it and therefore less slowdowns.
