Kirby Doesn't Work Anymore

Alright I have the roms for Kirby Superstar and Kirby Dreamland 3 and they both worked before, but now when I load either I get a message on the screen saying "If you are using mouse, super scope, or multiplayer adapter switch to controller thanks." and there is no way to bypass that screen now so I can't play either game. They aren't bad roms either and I am using a controller. Solution??

This simply means Input #2-5 may be enabled. They should be disabled if you are not using them for the game.
