ZSNES on second screen

Hello,

I'm using a television as a second screen to my laptop, however the ZSNES won't move from my laptop's screen to the TV screen. I haven't experienced this problem with any other program, so I'm rather confused as to why its not working. I've tried several different video modes and settings (full screen and not), but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It won't work because ZSNES uses DirectDraw and uses it in such a way that it will not switch devices. And even if it did, the moment you did that, you would loose hardware acceleration.

Device selection may be a part of a later version of ZSNES. However, drag and drop capability like you're asking for is not possible with DirectDraw while still keeping hardware acceleration. A new rendering API such as Direct3D, or OpenGL would be necessary. I dont' know what the devs plan on doing if anything, but it will not work right now as is no matter what you do.

Just switch the TV to your primary display device. That's a workaround in the meantime.

I have noticed in both ATI and Nvidia drivers, that you can set up key combinations to switch modes. So if you set a mode where laptop screen was primary, and another where the tv was primary, you could switch between the two with a keystroke. This might be the easiest way to get around the whole zsnes on second screen thing.

Modern nvidia drivers have a clone view option. That means that you can view simultaneously the same image on both your computer and television.
