Wanted: full-time documentation translator
If you speak both English and another language and you are interested in translating the ZSNES documentation, please let us know!
The documentation is rather large, and covers a lot of technical topics. If this is the kind of challenge that you like to take on, we want you!
There are two options I see in translating the docs:
1. Completely translate them just before an official release. This requires the least total work, but would probably be more tiring.
2. Start translating the docs now, keeping any changes synced between them. This would require a large amount of work over a longer period of time, and then only incremental changes.
Again, if this interests you, please reply to this thread!

Sounding interesting to me, two details from this board, I remember a guy wanting to translate that, about years ago! I will try to contact him!
If he doesn't want it, tell me the details and I will work on a translation for PORTUGUESE (Português - BRASIL) !

Download the docs according to one of the other stickies in this forum, then hack away. Readme.htm and GUI.htm are probably highest priority. After you translate a few sections, post them somehow (on here?), and I will look into how to integrate them with the docs.henke37 wrote:I got way too much time on my hands, I can do Swedish.
Also, if you require any special characters, please use Unicode. If you're editing in Windows, I recommend Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net).

I don't think I will cause any charset issues, since I will likely be using a tool that uses character entities like å instead of the raw characters.
But, I am confused about how the docs works, where is the template files that is used to generate the different documentation formats?
There is one, right?

I'd translate to pt-BR, but only if tvtoon isn't interested(unless team work is allowed). The extensions for help files are only .txt and htm, right?
PS. I'd need something to prevent charset issues, like henke37 mentioned, that's EXTREMELY important in Portuguese, because we use áàâçü alot.
Edit: zget downloads all help files, or just some?

The HTML docs are the official docs. All the other formats are derived from them. So use the text from the HTML docs.henke37 wrote:But, I am confused about how the docs works, where is the template files that is used to generate the different documentation formats?

Don't try to edit the code directly, right now. Just translate some text or something. I'll insert it into the code at some point.
We might want to switch to a Wiki soon.

Re: Wanted: full-time documentation translator
I can try to translate the documentation to Spanish (except the license) and to Galician (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galician_language if you don't know what it is).
I'll start to translate the docs of the version 1.51 today.
PS: Sorry, my English is really bad.

Re: Wanted: full-time documentation translator
Just in case someone still cares about this, I am giving up on translating the documentation into Spanish and Galician. I have realized that I have neither the knowledge nor the time to translate the documentation. (I know I have revived this dead post again; sorry).
