I'd be cool if they kept remaking them like this, I mean, it would improve on the ones that were not really enhanced VISUALLY on the PSOne, WonderSwan, or GBA.
Rebalancing games is a tough chore. As long as the changes are sane, perhaps it may be worthwhile. The hardcore players are usually the ones to know the true differences. FF1 for GBA was really a radical change in many instances (mostly towards simplicity though). I didn't have that many issues (other than the game becoming much easier)... but by comparison though the new stuff added into the SNES FF series broke a lot of game balance... even with slightly tweaked game mechanics.
FF4A completely broke fighting behavior by adding "the extra spell" attack to make certain weapons way too overpowered. Unfortunately, the port added a dumbass spell check, which made the character stand out a little longer, even if they did not hold a weapon that casted an extra spell.
FF5A's Necromancer class reduced the usefulness of other classes. Plus, the new magic didn't come with inspired graphics.
FF6A's new weapons were completely uninspired, plus it did not properly take account in FF6's ultimate weapons.
If they could better balance these games.. other than making "better graphics" would be nice IMO.
