player 1-player 2 code convert

Post by invictius »

the game in question, top gear 3000.

gives you max cash, 99 million to be exact, the code is 7e039199

I've also got a 4-line code, but have no idea how to make zsnes accept it.

Thanks in advance!

A hint: How do you think Multi-line cheat codes worked on the Game Genie?

If you are special, you read this: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9800

The code works correctly for player 1. I can only assume that a different value needs to be input to have the effect for player 2. So my question still stands?

grinvader: Wow, what an intelligent response! I can see you don't have a head!

EDIT: I'll probably get whined at if I start another thread, so I'll ask the question here - this code:

BFCC-3D9D
BFCC-3FFD (Credits Earned By Player 1 Are Multiplied X100)

Now I've downloaded game genie>PAR and PAR>GG converters, but none handle 4-line codes. I have no clue whatsoever what format code this is or how to convert it?

The hint is even - separated, like the code should be...

That, I cannot help you there. However, the cheat search feature should point you in the correct direction.

Obviously the p1 and p2 money are stored in diferent variables, probably close to each other. As Deathlike said, Cheat Search > Comparative(2bytes, preferably decimal) is the way to go

Ah well, I've got the "credits x100" to work - it's not for me, since I'm always player 1 :P - it's for a friend who has fairly severe cancer, and for some reason, he just really likes this game a lot, more than me :P Thanks.

Yes.

One 4-line cheat consists of four 1-line PAR/GG codes.

Yes.
You betcha.

That's supposed to be obvious, but apparantly that's never obvious enough for people that keep asking said question.

http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8985 - This is also a perfect FAQ question that clearly was not looked at by the op.

actually, it isn't obvious. Apply Occum's razor to it: multi-line GG\PAR codes were never presented with any ordination - and the default screen on the original hardware presented an interface where you can enter more than one line before proceeding - people have no reason, based on the presentation of the code, to assume that it should be entered piecemeal.

People will continue to ask the question because the interface presented for them to enter codes in ZSNES/SNES9x is unexpected.

If you want people to stop asking that question, change the interface so they can enter more than one line at a time before proceeding.

Until then, suck it up.
Does [Kevin] Smith masturbate with steel wool too?

- Yes, but don’t change the subject.

Well, that's totally unrealistic.

On a Game Genie, code entering was easy enough, as there were 5 lines available only, and the cursor would automatically goto the next line IIRC when the code line was filled. The presentation allowed for simplicity (and therefore no special "multi-code" button).

As originally said in the thread I've linked to, the + in a code means "on the next line" add this next code in.

I don't see how this is convoluted or lacking any sense.

Stupids don't deserve to cheat.
Helping them is against my religion.
Either they get a clue, or we get comic relief.
Win-win situation.

I'm not sure why you're worried about 4-line codes when you're using a 2-line code...

Probably thinks there are four 4-character codes.
It's all magic, after all.

It's all about fish and bread multiplication.

Btw, whats the point in GG > PAR converters? Aren't they always saved as PAR?
