Problems with Save States

Post by Seritho »

My Save States have been disappearing. They seem to save fine to the various slots, I've been making sure that I am not overwriting or anything like that, but both they and my Game Genie Codes have been disappearing. So far this has happened for Breath of Fire II which the codes were for and Der Langrisser which had no codes used. But in each case my files are just gone, with no indication why. Does anyone have any ideas as to whats up? By the way my ZSNES is the v1.51 and my operating system is Windows Vista. The emulator and roms play fine, only a minor problem with freezing on Breath of Fire II but nothing major.

It helps to define a save path so you know where the savestates go. Otherwise, they are stored in the same folder the games are located, and that can be problematic when the folder has read-only permissions.

As for the Game Genie codes, those are not saved unless you save them manually and you also need the "Auto-Load CHT files" option enabled.

Our manual covers setting up paths very thoroughly.

You mean the one that downloads with the Emulator? I looked through several of the documents but couldn't find anything on the Paths or Saving States.

Well I checked all of the files that came with ZSNES but none had any info that I could see as far as creating the appropriate pathways. But I found a website that gave me the key to doing it. But I honestly and truly could not find that info, can I ask which file it was? By the way, ZSNES rocks, I have wanted to play some of these games for years and they simply do not exist anymore or I have never heard of them. Thanks for making it!
