I'm considering getting this , I just never been sure about homebrew on versions above 1.50

I mainly just wanna run this for the PS1 emulation (and any fixes involved with it) , and setting up cwcheat to fool around with games that had things removed but obtainable with gameshark/ect , like Digimon World

3.40 OE can run homebrew just fine

also if you have final fantasy 7, I'd advise you to get that popsloader plugin and load 3.10 POPS with it, as 3.40 has graphical glitches in FF7 (most notably when you goto Corel Reactor to get the huge materia)

caveat: you will need to convert your PS1 saves to the new format, as Sony changed the format for 3.40 POPS saves. So if you have (or plan on using) the POPSloader, I'd advise you keep a backup of your saves (usually in /PSP/GAME/SAVEDATA)

They DID, however, insert a disk speed adjuster (but from what I've seen so far it's lolrice), as well as a Game Reset function (no idea if this came in 3.3 POPS or 3.4 POPS.)

Nothing compelling here that would motivate me to upgrade from 3.10 OAE. Everything is working fine, so I think I'll leave it that way.

So, lets just say you saved before those glitches. You install that other firmware and continue on. Will everything be fine? Or will compatibility issues arise?

you should still get the glitches

I had no idea it would foul up there at all, as I started re-playing FF7 a few days ago.

Will Alcohol 120 work for making an ISO of PS1 games to convert?

I'm also wondering how to get cwcheat to work...

Yes, use alcohol to make an iso and then feed it to popstation4.

Of course. You'd have to play one disk at a time though.

Is anyone running FF7 on their PSP? Mine has a few glitches where the attack sounds are a bit odd, and it doesn't show the transition to battle. Running 3.10 OEA

casualsax: it did it on the 3.10 OE A2 firmware.

However I didn't notice any glitches, but yeah the sounds were off (sounds kind of like Square sound rape, good to know it carried over into the PSX era ), and it doesn't show the battle transitions.

Battle Swirl has been restored in 3.40 OE-A, however as I said in the original post, you will end up getting graphical glitches near the Fort Corel area when you get the huge materia.

Just upgraded to 3.40 OE-A - can you explain pops to me in general? I've heard the term tossed around but haven't found any good resource for overviews of the broader concepts.
