Video Resolution mode for next update

Post by DethLord »

I was wondering, when you guys release the next version or WIP whichever comes first, you guys should support the 320x200 or 320 x 240 mode for the upcoming zsnes win32 version like how you guys have one for the DOS version. I know SNES9x supports one of those 2 resolutions. This is great for slower computers that don't want to use the DOS version and they have windows.
System Specs
Intel Celeron 366 MHz Laptop, 192 MB PC 100 RAM
30 GB HD, Intel Integrated Audio
4 MB Video, 24X CD ROM
Win XP Pro SP1, 800x600 (24 bit color) Resolution
ZSNES 0313 WIP Win32 running 640x480 DR FULL

There's simply no need for them. In 320x2?0 DOS, only up to 256x239 pixels are used, and stretching is pointless.
Use 256x224 in the Win32 port.

Uh... can we get every resolution ever made, maybe up to 6400x1200 (or maybe higher) ?
Also, can we get true 4:3 and 16:9 Full Screen Aspect Ratios.
Cool... thanks :D

320x200 is lower than the native resolution of some SNES games.

It's called S mode. 640:480 = 4:3

Hopefully someday we'll have custom resolutions. Then there'll be no more need for threads like this... :D

I was just trying to be funny/sarcastic.
Yeah 640x480 S is 4:3, I guess, but I don't really care.
I was trying to join the crowd, and whine like everyone else does :)

What doesn't work is when you use that resolution on a 16:9 Monitor,
it doesn't really "Scale to fit the screen" all the way to the top and bottom (which the S Mode says it does).
But, again, I don't care... I'm greatful ZSNES even works at all :)

Maybe when you guys go GTK/SDL this will all get taken care of automatically?

Yo Grinvader, what distro of Linux was that? It looks badass. :D
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Distro? Who knows. That's a fairly standard GNOME desktop.

Linux 2.4.26-gentoo-r9.
But the badassness comes from XFree86 4.3.0.1 and Gnome desktop manager 2.6.2 at work.
The badass background pic show my mad skillz at merging transparent layers with the GIMP.

Anything looks pretty badass if it's made with at least some effort and using GIMP.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.
