Need a little help with Image Editing

Post by Clements »

Hi guys.

I am sure that there are some guys here who are pretty good at Photoshop or similar. All I would like done is the following image converted into 2 colours (black and white). This image will hopefully be printed on to a T-Shirt (like a kind of El Che parody). I had a go myself, but I would like to see a better image in PNG format so the person in the original image is most recognizable. Thanks.

Here is my attempt (a little too bright, perhaps?)

you'd get better results starting with a colour picture.

Mind you, the iconic Che shirt is a drawing based on a photo.
Does [Kevin] Smith masturbate with steel wool too?

- Yes, but don’t change the subject.

Okay guys, I went to the Print Shop and had the T-Shirt made up. The image wasn't perfect since it had a lot of 'fuzz' that can't be reasonably printed. The guy said that he could fix the image a little to work with the printer.

It was quite embarrassing when the store guy opened the image, I don't know if most of you will know who this guy is, but he is most famous in the UK for presenting a show called Masterchef 7 years ago, and also a gameshow called Through the Key Hole.

You can make use of the median filter to get rid of excessive details, you can also dodge and burn areas of the image to heighten basic details (i.e. the eyes) before running the luminance threshold filter.

This is what I came up with in a minute:
