If you enter a "trap" room you will have many encounters. Way more than normal.

except for the first few times on NES I've always done

White Mage
Black Mage
White Mage
Black Mage

even though most of the spells are crap I am a spellwhore and I can't stand missing any and this is the only way to get all the spells.

yeah, I've done that, that's fun, I always feel even more badass with

but yeah, most times now I just stick to the mages, it actually poses a bit of challenge too, which is good.
