Super Metroid Assistance

Post by YuushaFan »

The first time I booted up Super Metroid, it ran just fine. After that, however, it showed me a warning screen, something about "copying games". Is there any way to bypass this warning?

Are you forcing a PAL/NTSC on the rom? If you are, don't do it.

Also, check and make sure inputs 3 through 5 are disabled.

Sorry, I'm a relative noob, and I didn't understand half of the stuff you said.

When you load games through the file loader, the lower right hand section of the menu has NTSC/PAL options. Make sure neither are checked.

What's this about inputs 3-5?

And, no, I'm not forcing PAL/NTSC on the ROM.

In the menu... Config->Input. There are numbered tabs for each player input. Make sure inputs #3-5 are disabled. There is a status for each player.. whether it be keyboard/game or none.

For input, both #3 and #5 say "none". Does this mean that they're disabled?

Yes.

Hmm... try deleting the SRM files generated by ZSNES and try playing the game again.

If the problem still occurs, scan the rom with NSRT and copy+paste the output here. Obtain NSRT @ http://nsrt.edgeemu.com (it is in the files section of the website).

It could be also any cheats you might be using. If you have any turn them off and save. Test them all if that works and see which one(s) are doing it.

That did it. It was the CHEATS that were causing the error!

BAH. If you are using cheats, please don't report these as bugs while they are in use.

The simple fact that it was not mentioned is very annoying.

I'm sorry, I didn't know about this either. Could someone lock this topic as an eternal testament to my stupidity?
