OEM Laptop Parts

I am trying to find a generic HD DVD-RW Drive for a laptop which I think I found by toshiba here:

Reviews state it was supposed to be made available early July, however I do not know where to look since this is only available to OEM computer vendors.

I managed to find the model below it, which I am OK with but its expensive as hell (which I expected), but its listed as coming soon, even though its been out since january.

500 dollars for a laptop drive that writes 25 gig discs? who are you going to share these with, yourself?

get an external portable hard drive.

I don't plan on buying that particular model at this time from that place, sorry if I didn't make myself clear. Span is located in the UK, its very expensive there so I'm more looking to price the drive pretty much and find a place I can actually buy it from eventually. I know the price will drop, just want a place I can find it at is all.

whenever new laptops that come with them come out.

then you can ask your laptop manufacturer for it.

well they do come out for toshiba laptops, the toshiba parts specialist i need to speak to is out till september :-/
