winamp and Zsnes

Post by HonoredShadow »

I like to sometimes listen to music while playing games but for some reason when I'm listening to music via Winamp and then start Zsnes the music stops. It only restarts if I close Zsnes.

I do not have high prority ticked for Zsnes so how come the music stops?

How can I run Zsnes (like Sega fusion emulator) so that I can play the games and listen to music?

Make Winamp use DirectSound for output instead of WaveOut.

You need to configure Winamp to use an output that will allow for output, otherwise you simply have to disable sound altogether in the emu to allow Winamp to play.

Sound is disabled in Zsnes.

Winamp is using DirectSound (as it does by default) and my perticular soundcard is selected in the options/prefs in Winamp. But sound still stops when I run Zsnes (latest).

Edit: Got it. I was using Primary buffer in Zsnes. That was possibly that was interfering with Winamp. Notably that I was using create primary buffer in Winamp

Try toggling "Use Primary Buffer" and see if that helps.

Thanks all.

The option itself when enabled is used for improved 9x audio compat. It was never meant for later Windows OSes.

Now if I could only find an answer to my when I right click the mouse button the menu does not appear or at least does not appear for 30 seconds or so after continual presses (while in game that is)

Might it have something to do with that I have not re-installed Zsnes fresh for a while and just put new version into the previous install direcory?

I do have the opton ticked for right mouse button to activate menu with right click.

You can try a fresh install if you want, but I'd say that would be probably related to input lag. Toggle VSync and/or Triple Buffering for good measure.
