Just got a 360, what do I want to play?
I just got a 360 as an anniversary present (pro with HDMI) and now I need to get something worth playing I guess. I've preordered Halo 3, and picked up BioShock - what else is there? Was Viva Pinata any good?
Gears of War kind of bored me, and I'm not a fan of the Tom Clancy games.

I found CoD2 better than CoD3 (not much into WW2 stuff)
The outfit is alright , hard to get used to but atleast worth a rental
Saints Row is good , online is cool , but it kinda lacks compared to GTA in some aspects
Oblivion if you havnt already got it on PC
Some of the Live Arcade games are decent , Uno , Texas Hold Em , Bomberman Live
And if you want PDZ , its graphics are shiny which is weird to see glossy sand , but unless you just have to play the prequal to PD then I wouldnt suggest it
And those listed above...

the bonus of the 360 is that you can download demos and try them out yourself.
i can't recommend blue dragon from the demo, as stoked as i was to own it.
crackdown is incredibly short, but fun.
dead rising is a hard recommendation due to its save system, but if you never die, you shouldn't have to worry about losing a few hours.
marvel ultimate alliance is multi-platform, but the gold edition includes the DLC, adding another 8 characters.
guitar hero II is pretty fun
Oblivion just came out with a GotY edition that would be worth picking up.
Stranglehold is one you'll want to try the demo for first. It's enjoyable enough.
condemned: criminal origins if you like the scary games. it should be dirt cheap by now.
fight night is also pretty cheap and good party fun
i'm a little surprised that gears of war didn't go well with you.

Yeah, what about that game? I've read the bad reviews saying it was too oldschool or something, is it just because they're all a bunch of pretentious pussies who absolutely require some sort of "clever" and "revolutionary" fully automated battle system, can't play without their little hand being held along the way, and go BAWWWWWWW DRAMA each time they see even a hint of something they saw before in an older RPG? While the game is actually very good?Clements wrote:Blue Dragon is actually pretty good.
Or does it really stand at an FF1 level of antiquity?
I don't own a 360 or anything, but this game interests me.

The first games I got with my 360 were Gears Of War, Dead Rising (awesome zombie game!), and Tomb Raider Legend (surprisingly fun).
I'd recommend:
Dead Rising
Gears of War (how is it boring?)
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Crackdown
ES4: Oblivion
Perfect Dark Zero
DiRT
Forza 2
