Problems with Zsnes 1.51

Post by FamicomFreak »

Well I haven't played emulators in so long but I decided to try out the good old Zsnes. The program loads up fine, but the sound seems to be the problem. Now, I though it was because the PC came with a cheap sound card so I decided to buy one. I bought it and I still get this choppy sound but I don't know why. It's funny but my old computer which is older than this one played the sound alright and I have tried both windows and dos versions. Can anyone help me fix this sound problem? btw my specs are P4 1.6ghz, Radeon 9250 256mb, Xtreme Sound PCI audio device, and the direct x is 9.0c

Try tweaking the sound frequency rate from the default to 44KHz or 48KHz.

Make sure "Use Primary Buffer" is not checked.

If neither solution works, your sound card drivers suck.

Yeah I have tried it but I guess these sound drivers are supposed to be for windows 98 but that's why I bought a brand new sound card and have the same problem. Does having another card matter??

What OS are you running?

If you are using 98SE, you need to probably download a specific patch to fix sound quality. It shouldn't be hard to google.
