Recommend some GBA Games.

Post by Joe Camacho »

Thanks to the hell of a schedule I have now, which is a topic for another thread, I now do "all" of my gaming on my craptastic laptop, which sucks for PC gaming.

But I can run SNES and GBA games. But I think I have played enough SNES games, my question is: What are good GBA games I can play on short bursts?

GBA games I have played:
Castlevania Series
Megaman Zero Series
Super Robot Wars OG and OG2
Yydra Union
Riviera: The Promised Land
Ninja Five-0
TETRIS for GB
Shining Force Games
Metroid Games

Now, recommend!

I haven't had a chance to play it, but apparently the new Spyro game is really good. It's done in the style of the Metroid/Castlevania games, so I'm pumped to give it a shot. Also, The new TMNT game for GBA is an excellent beatemup. Two awesome games that are SO much better than their DS counterparts. It's a shame, really.

I tried it out, and indeed it is actually quite good. Now if only sound didn't lag me so much.

I actually got them by recommendation.. And I didn't like them a lot.

Yydra Union: Is it a card game? Is it a Strategy game? Why can I only attack once per turn? What is this passive / agressive thing? I don't recover Morale? Huh? I gave up around the 3th or 4th map.

Riviera: Leveling up by using weapons? Weapons that wear down? Ah, but in practice mode they don't? Oh well.. LIMITED INVENTORY IN A GAME IN WHICH YOU LEVEL UP WITH ITEMS? Argh! Also, not being able to aim at the enemy I wanted to hit, kind of annoyed me. And I won't even start on the minigame things to open chests and do actions.

They might be good games, but I was looking for something relaxing and slow, but both games were quite "dynamic" for their genres. Maybe some other time, when I have time to learn the system.

Speaking of WarioWare, is it possible to play WarioWare: Twisted on a GBA emulator? It has a built-in gyro sensor so I'm not so sure about that.

I want a GameBoy Player... JUST to play WarioWare Twisted with.

I find the idea hilarious.

Yes, an IPS patch exists for it so you can use the D-Pad to control instead:

well, since the japanese only ones aren't yet translated to my knowledge, I guess I'd recommend "Fire Emblem" and then "The Sacred Stones"

pretty straight forward.
