Everest and Core 2 DUO temperatures...

Hi, i have heard that the threshold for E6750 is 60 degrees celcius. Everest reports a temperature for each core and for the CPU it self. is the threshold for each core? or for the actual chip?

what is the threshold for all 3 parts?

reading the temps isnt the problem, knowing what the max. temp before it starts shutting down IS, because most things measure the temp of each core AND the whole chip.

It depends on your processor stepping, recent ones start throttling once they reach 85°C.

I don't know about Everest but neither SpeedFan nor my system BIOS report the correct temperatures of CPU, only CoreTemp does, so, knowing the limit is meaningless unless you know how close you're pushing the CPU.

i will look into that program you recommend.

Tjunction 85 degrees celcius
Core 0 at 30 degrees
Core 1 at 28 degrees

is the TJunction the combined temperature of both cores or is it the max for each core? or... ?

It's around 80 when they start throttling.
