The "224 lines" issue is not fixed.

Post by ReyVGM »

Hello guys.
Just before anyone says anything let me tell you that I did use the search feature and looked at 8 pages back to see if anyone else asked/mentioned this.

If someone did, then I must have missed it. My excuses in advance.

Anyway, on the main page it says "On the emulation side of things, we now finally have 224 lines displayed correctly."
Indeed 224 lines are displayed, but not correctly. The last line (I've seen it on top or bottom) is always a black bar.
Here's a screenshot example comparing snaps taken with zsnes 1.51 and *cough snes9x cough*
Sorry for the godawful colors, it's just that those colors make the black lines pop out and it helps my example.

Are there any plans to finally get rid of that black line and display correctly the 224 lines?

Just in case, when you play the games, the line is almost unnoticeable (especially since some games natively have borders on the top and bottom). So before replying with something nasty, please check first the games I used as an example and take a screenshot yourself to see if you also have the black line.

The video mode I'm using (in case it's relevant) is 800x600 DR F.
I've tried other video options and they all had the same results.

I sure wish it's just something on my end ;)

Post 1.51?
Oh ok. On the news page it sounded as if 1.51 had the fix already.

Well, if a future version will finally have it fixed, then great :)

Thanks for the reply.

It was never really fixed in the first place, I remember the first WIP that had this partial fix. After that, everyone had to wait for this fix as it would be completed in the next official version (something along those lines).

Perhaps due to the time it's taking on 2.xx we need to release a 1.60 with some partial fixes like this.

Please do?

If you do it, I promise I won't hump your leg.

Took me, what, a year to update this info?
And meh, screw legs.
Oh... puns. I get it. Shame on me.

Apparently this still isn't working right so I am using bsnes as a reference since this is the defacto standard people are comparing stuff to so I will do my best to get it displaying the 224th line properly as seen there. I think it has something to do with the renderer but I will have to look into it.

That might be a good idea. However, would it be worth the extra effort? I imagine you'd have to either copy the fixes into the old source code, correct?
