Final Fantasy VIII [8], Awesome looking Spaceship!

Post by ST Dragon »

Final Fantasy VIII, Awesome looking Spaceship!

Back in 1999 when Final Fantasy VIII [8] was released for the SONY PS-1, I read an article on some nameless games magazine.
Within the article, they had posted a photo of a large, very impressive spaceship that was supposed to be featured in the FF8 game. This craft had similar wings to the Sol Bianca vessel, but it was much larger, more detailed and cooler looking!

Since I’m not a fan of the series and not interested in actually completing the game, I don’t really know anything else about this spaceship. But judging by its impressive design, my guess is that it must play an important role in the game?! (Maybe it’s the main characters’ vessel?!)

I’ve been searching Google Image service and Emule P2P for a hi-res picture of this Space Ship, but since I don’t actually know the name or its role in the FF8 game, I’ve had no luck what so ever!

Please, if anybody could provide me info on this ship, Hi-Res photos, Wallpapers, Flyers, or links, it would be greatly appreciated!

My memory is a bit foggy, but it might have been this red space ship, but I’m not sure! Are there any other similar impressive spaceships in FFVIII, if not then this must be it!

Thanks in advance.

Isn't that the one in FFX/FFX-2?

No, It's Ragnarok from FFVIII.

IIRC, in FFVIII's storyline, Ragnarok was one of the research ships that found (or helped to seal and transport) Adel's Tomb in space. Adel being one of the nasty witch that almost enslaved the world sometime in the past. Don't quote me on this though, my memory is fuzzy. It becomes your main form of transportation after the Lunar Cry incident. You pretty much have to claim it to yourself from a few angry research specimens first.

Why not? Most installments in the series are fairly different, if you dislike one you might like the other, and vice versa. FF8 is especially different in a lot of ways. Or do you just not like RPG's in general?

Anyway, copypaste these into your browser if the link won't work:

No the ship in FFX is more pinkish looking with a sub hull below the ship. The Ragnorok was definitely red.

No, he was talking about this one: http://members.home.nl/hierophantdruid/celcius.jpg

Which is only from X-2 btw, not X.

Too bad you never actually get to fly it, seeing how Final Fantasy has become fucking retarded since X.

No love for the blackjack or falcon? T_T

FF6, you upgraded from an actual airship to a derigible. I laughed the first time.

Well, I'm not really into Turn-based RPGs.
I prefer Real-Time Action/Adventure/RPGs on the SNES (Terranigma) and the 2D Zelda series.

Hhmm... That highwind looks quite slow compared to the Ragnarok! ;)

And what's with all those Air Ships with the vertically aligned propellers on top?
I see they're featured in almost all Final Fantasy Games!

Here are all the FMVs of VIII. Ragnarok appears in Disc 3.
I've been told that the only other spaceships in the game appear in the same disc?!

For some reason I think that the ships on FFXIII and FF Versus XIII will outclass the Ragnarok big time.

I don't know, I've always liked the designs in FF9 the best, they look the most detailed, artistic, and scientific like de vinci or something instead of clunky space ship wannabees

Until I get confirmation that we'll actually be able to fly them again, frankly I couldn't give a shit.
