I am a newbie and am having a very hard time figuring out the save state for zelda a link to the past. I have zsnes vs 1.51 My roms are in my games folder but the saved games are being pathed to the zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) folder. I played zelda for 6 hours one day not realizing that when I shut the game off I did not save a thing. So I looked up a downloadable state but I can not figure out how to get it to work. please realize Im very new to this and am not the most computer savvy in the world. Any help would be appreciated as I have done many searches on the net and cannot find any tutorials about how to do this
thanks
need some help with downloaded save state

wtf
to the smart ass....
obviously you dont read...Im not computer savvy
obviously you have nothing better to do than to bash
the newbies. I downloaded this console 3 days ago.
I admit I dont know shit about it. Excuse my ignorance.
just because you been using this for a long time does
not mean everyone else has. Why not try to help instead
of bashing people.

post
my post was changed to (btw Im too stupid to know)
I did not put that someone else added that.
I really think it sucks that someone that admits
they are new would get help rather than being
told that they are stupid

Re: post
That's an automatic board filter, which catches common misspellings of ZSNES. You can yell at it as much as you want, but it's not going to apologize to you.honeybunn35 wrote:my post was changed to (btw Im too stupid to know)

I believe you're trying to load the savestate file from the load game menu - not what you want to do. Load your original ROM as per usual, and then use the F1 menu's "Load State" option to load the savestate.honeybunn35 wrote:I have tried to copy the file and rename it exactly when I then try to reload the game it comes up with a failed chksum then the screen stays black. Its not that Im not trying to help myself Its obvious Im doing something wrong and can not figure it out.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.
OK, if you downloaded a zipped .srm file than that would be the battery-backed save RAM. Extract that file to the ZSNES folder and you should be good to go.honeybunn35 wrote:ok I have a zip file of the rom in my games
I downloaded another zip do I extract it and then
put the .smr into my zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) folder? Im very confused
since I only had this emulator a few days. I appreciate
your help
By the way, I prefer to keep this on the board - other people may benefit.
Also, please take the time to spell-check your messages. The filter is there to give you a hint that it's a good idea.
