Mupen64 Plus v1.x
Okay, I was on emutalk forums and stumbled upon this thread for a potentially awesome emulator http://emutalk.net/showthread.php?p=400223#post400223 which has builds for 32 and 64-bit CPUs/OSes.
However, there is one problem with the .zip files they provide. Whenever I extract it, the file itself (called Mupen64 Plus) has no extension (it doesn't end with ".exe") and does not work even after changing it to .exe (this method works with the Regen .zip files, however). What does the author expect us to do, compile it ourselves!? If so, that's pretty stupid IMHO.

Part of me feels sorry for you, and part of me feels vindicated after all the times I've downloaded some interesting-looking indy game only to discover it was Windows-only.neo_bahamut1985 wrote:However, there is one problem with the .zip files they provide. I'm not sure I'd trust a Linux application that *didn't* allow me to compile it myself from source.

Yeah man, I HATE when people take time and effort to code an incredibly complex emulator, while at the same time they're balancing their coding with their personal life, to released a polished product that they're actually proud of...neo_bahamut1985 wrote:Hope they make a Windows port. Only if people weren't lazy and just give us a freakin' update on PJ64 1.7....
And if you read my thread on the release, you'll know that a windows port is eventually going to happen. But I guess you wouldn't want to wait that long...
