Are the welcome messages in Zsnes an April Fool's Day thing? I've had it for about a half a year now, it's a great program, but I've never gotten the messages till today. Just wanted to say it's bloody genius, I've been reloading the program just to read different messages.
Edit: It is, changed my computer's clock to a day ahead and the messages went away. I just want to say whoever came up with that idea is just amazingly funny, thanks for the laughs.
because it's the least obviously done by zsnes.
the fact that it is April fools day only makes it worse, because if this is a real virus, this might be the first day it reared it's ugly head, and you know that the virus removal software hasn't dealt with it yet.
another reason i made this post is so that you can go this thread when you see antoinewg was here
might want to do that for other messages that are likely to be googled too.

unless you ever come to the boards.
because, we all know that everyone who uses zsnes always comes to the boards right?
If I were using a program that gave me a weird message on April 1st, the first place I'd look is the official support structure (in this case, the boards).
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but yeah antoinewg was here kinda freaked me out, I alt tabbed my zsnes and put some music on and went to bed, woke up and got back in to be greeted with antoinewg was here I thought for sure something shifty was going on
I've been using emulators for 17 years and the earliest I remember is zsnes, even though I know it isn't that old.
I've never had this message until today haha, freeaked.
well played I guess, much love to the people behind zsnes C:

*cough* it is.
Oh, well it all makes sense now because I can't remember using another emulator ever.
I did briefly look it up before posting and the first one i came across said it was released in 2001... looking back on it now that was when it was GPL'ed and I'm a dumbshite hah C:
But yeah, zsnes has been huge in my life, coming from a poor family the only contact I had with any games was a friends PC after school and all we ever did was use zsnes and play anything with 2 player co-op. That meant a lot when I was 11 years old... it means a lot to me today C:
the other April fools messages I got were roughly
"have a nice day"
"you should do a virus scan"
