Pressure sensitive game on DS?
I just tried a paint application NDS homebrew Colors! and was surprised to discover the NDS touchscreen is actually pressure sensitive. I say "surprised" because I'm not aware of any commercial games that support that.
So does any of you knows of any commercial games that makes use of this feature?
The "Color!" program is very simple yet extremely well done btw. Afaik, it doesn't have any fancy features found in any modern paint apps (like clone, shape tools etc) it's basically just brush strokes and not much else, so for those that actually know how to draw (unlike me) it might be interesting.

I think it's not used in commercial apps because it's probably just a hack. It doesn't work very well compared to actual drawing tablets, it feels imprecise, unresponsive yet oversensitive.
That said, I -was- amazed when I first tried it. It's better than no pressure sensitivity at all.

It might not be as precise as the real drawing tablets for PCs but I thought it was fairly responsive and worked well. You can "calibrate" the sensitivity in the options btw. Something close to 250 for light and around 100-120 for hard works for me.blackmyst wrote:I think it's not used in commercial apps because it's probably just a hack. It just seem weird Nintendo never exploited it.edit:*Thinking about it maybe they just didn't want people applying too much "forces" and break the thing.

capcom puzzle fighters was kick ass, so snk card fighters must be just like it. I just played it for like 20 minutes. it's complicated as fuck. it's like pokemon on steroids mixed with crack and a deck of cards. I experienced no pressure sensitivity, only severe pain.

It's A. not as fun as the original NeoGeo Pocket version(which was exploitable as fuck, but stupidly fun), and B. got a game-killing bug about 3/4s through that makes it impossible to clear the "second quest."PHoNyMiKe wrote:capcom puzzle fighters was kick ass, so snk card fighters must be just like it. What, really? I don't remember that at all. Aren't you just remembering the hype building for the touch sensitive screen, period?

Couldn't you send in your game to SNK for a fixed copy?Gil_Hamilton wrote:It's A. not as fun as the original NeoGeo Pocket version(which was exploitable as fuck, but stupidly fun), and B. got a game-killing bug about 3/4s through that makes it impossible to clear the "second quest."PHoNyMiKe wrote:capcom puzzle fighters was kick ass, so snk card fighters must be just like it. I explicitly remember a cited example of a Mario-Paint-style game where you could "carve stone", and the harder you pressed, the deeper it would carve.blackmyst wrote:Gil_Hamilton wrote:I remember when the DS was new, they were talking it up.

If the exchange program wasn't over by the time I found out I had a bad copy... which I was unaware was 100% since ALL retail copies were bugged.snkcube wrote: Couldn't you send in your game to SNK for a fixed copy?
