I went nuts when I saw this trailer a few days ago... the sidescrolling is a definite good move, and it looks like there's some real speed going on again. Kinda reminds me of the DS sonic games, which I'm seeing as a definite good thing... As long as it gets at least half-decent reviews, this is probably a must-buy for me (my last Sonic must-buy was probably the original Adventure).

Hey, let's not forget about Sega. They were terrible in regards to lifespan of their consoles (shoddy marketing techniques and all aside, y'know). I think the DC was only around for about a year or less....

Seriously though, keeping the same hardware in market for that long is stupid. By then, hardware incredibly more powerful would be available, and would be the same price as the dated hardware would be when that came out.

I mean, 2 years from now, we'll be well into the Wii63 (abbreviation of Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3) era, and they're still going to release new games fro the PS2? I imagine by then people would have either modded their PS2 so they can play the games they missed out on (for example, me, and the rest of the about 5% of PS2 owners), or put in aside and abandoned it (95% of people).

4 years tops, 5 years if you push it. 10 years is insane.

Yeah, I can't believe they're still making PS2 games/ports, either.

Naa, it would be something cheesier. I mean, XBox 360? What the hell does the 360 do there? We can rotate in 360 degrees since the Saturn times... well, since the SNES times... ehr... Arcades... beggining of the 80s...

Now It'd be spomething like "XBox Sky: Your body is from here, but your ideas lie beyond."

my rant: 360 degree = +1 rotation = +1 generation after the first 0-degree (the original X)

perhaps next xbox generation would be xbox720 ?

Sony is still making money from the PS2 so why not keep selling them? Cutting support for it is pretty stupid business wise. It doesn't really matter how long a system stays on the market.

People were still buying PS1 games in 2003. I know I did, and I know many people would as I'd see them ask for one at Wal-Mart(All the games are kept in those big ass rack things they have that are locked and you need to bug one of the workers to unlock).

You underestimate how long people will play their old consoles. Snes games were still selling up to the GC's launch!

I bought a SNES game a month ago, and I plan on buying a PS2 sometime this or next year. Fuck having the latest stuff just for the sake of it!

Im divided between the PS3 or the 360/Ps2. I still collect SNES and NES games... oh, and PACKS of GameCube games. For $50 bucks you get 20 randomly assorted GC/PS/PS2/XBOX original games (with original box).

EDIT: Ok, here's the trailer for Unleashed. Why do they want to give him this "mutant" feeling? Do they only think of freaky emo stuff to add to the franchise?
